Every contribution to DChanger UK directly supports cancer patients and their families—many of whom face overwhelming loneliness and isolation during their journey. Your generosity enables us to deliver compassionate, practical support in ways that truly change lives. It minimises the issue of stigmatisation and taboo especially within the BAME group and faith community.
We provide transportation fares for members struggling to get to medical appointments, ensuring no one misses vital treatment due to financial hardship.
We deliver food packages to members in and out of the hospital, especially during intensive treatment phases, when members find it really difficult to eat.
Our team visits members during hospital stays to offer encouragement and emotional support—some patients have no visitors, and your donation helps us be there for them.
We visit members at home after hospital discharge or simply for companionship—taking short walks, chatting, and offering a listening ear.
We support members who need someone with them while receiving treatment or attending medical appointments.
These in-person gatherings help members connect, share, and de-stress. We invite professionals—counsellors, social workers, fitness trainers—to guide and empower our members. We also play games, quiz etc.
We cover travel expenses for our Cancer Connector volunteers who carry out home and hospital visits.
One-on-one outings with our founder, allow members to open up, feel seen and heard and experience the joy of being out in the community—an antidote to loneliness.
We invite professionals where and when needed to give talks in areas affecting members.
A powerful time of bonding, rest, and shared experience where members connect deeply, exchange coping strategies, and grow as a supportive community.
This is a day trip for everyone during summer. Members look forward to this.
A special gathering for all members, families, and volunteers to reflect, give thanks, and celebrate the strength of our community.
In 2024 alone, DChanger supported 50 cancer patients and their families, providing over 1,500 volunteer hours—and we’re just getting started.
